Self-initiated concept
Signal / Noise
A poster system using halftone, registration offset, and information density to explore where a message begins to distort.

Noise is not the opposite of signal; it is the boundary where signal becomes visible.
Series premise
Build a controllable distortion from offset
A single grid and paper ratio remain fixed while registration offset, dot scale, and density increase. One parameter changes at a time so tension remains traceable rather than collapsing into random disruption.
Three system controls
- 01
Offset
Give edges an echo
Separation layers move in fixed increments to control reading resistance.
- 02
Halftone
Change viewing distance
Fine dots support close reading; coarse dots turn content into a distant image.
- 03
Density
Find the edge of collapse
Information accumulates until the primary signal reaches its last legible threshold.
Move misregistered layers back to center and feel how small offsets alter the image.
