Self-initiated concept
Material Echo
A flowing-surface study of how glass, metal, and wireframe shift imagined speed, temperature, and distance.
- Scope
- Form study, material direction, lighting tests
- Duration
- Two-week material study
- Tools / Methods
- Blender · Cycles · Look development
- Year
- 2026
Material is not a skin placed on form; it is the first clue for understanding it.
Design premise
One form, three psychological speeds
Camera, silhouette, and light remain fixed while reflection, transmission, and wire density change. The goal is not to find the prettiest material, but a logic for predicting emotional shifts.
Three rapid comparisons
- 01
Transparent
Reduce distance
Visible internal cues make the form feel lighter and closer.
- 02
Reflective
Add weight
Highlights consolidate the silhouette and add metallic resistance.
- 03
Wireframe
Reveal speed
Density changes directly expose stretch direction and motion.
